Royal Ontario Museum (famous for Daniel Liebeskind architecture as well as exhibits), Art Gallery of Ontario (Frank Gehry design), Wychwood Barns Artspace (15 minute walk from the house), Cedarvale Ravine (great for strolling), Toronto Island, CN Tower, several universities and colleges, Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Toronto Opera Company, Soulpepper Theatre. Within easy driving distance of Niagara Falls, Niagara on the Lake, Prince Edward County (wine region, a bit like the Mornington Peninsula), Algonquin Park. 6 hours to Montreal, 5 hours to Ottawa (or less by train or plane). Great hiking (bushwalking) on the Bruce Trail/Niagara Escarpment (can get there on bus hikes). Close to public transit, easy access to rental car to get out of the city. Skiing in Collingwood from December - March depending on snow conditions.
