We are a couple in our 40's who love travelling and have lived in a few places around the world. I was with the airlines for many years and now work in project mangement in the public sector and Alan is in the resource industry. We have enojoyed great house swap experiences. My sister lives on he Goldie so we are looking for a swap for approx 2 weeks around this Xmas in the vicinity of Sorrento so we have a bit more space or We would like Sydney for New Years Eve.

About our Other: Our 3 level townhouse is in a modern, quiet, secure complex of 9. There are stairs. The top level is carpeted and consists of 2 air conditioned bedrooms (a king & a queen bed), built in robes and their own ensuites. The fully air conditioned second level consists of a galley style kitchen with Euro applicances and granite benchtops, a laundry with dryer and extra toilet, open-plan dining (seats 6) and lounge with 42" LCD and iPod docking station. This opens onto a balcony with Balinese day bed, tropical ferns and BBQ. The lower level consists of a garage with remote opening and an air conditioned room that we use as an office, ironing room with 2 single beds, hanging robe. This room opens onto a paved courtyard. Our complex doesn't allow pets and we both don't smoke. There is a swimming pool in the complex and there is an adjoining patio area with sun lounges.

Cairns is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest. We are a 7 min drive ($18.00 cab fare) from the airport, however we don't get any noise as there is a mountain between us. We are a 7 minute drive to the city of Cairns ($18.00 cab fare). There is a bus stop near the door to both the City and the Northern Beaches. Edge Hill Villiage is a 1 mintue walk up the avenue and has lots of cafes, restaurants, a tapas bar, take-aways (Chinese, fish & chips, Thai, pizza), butcher, bakery, deli, DVD shop, IGA, hairdressers, beauticians, florist, newsagent, petrol station, doctors, dentist. A 3 minute drive away is a large supermarket, ten pin bowling and bowls club. There is a 50m Olympic swimming pool 2.5km away adjacent to the tennis centre. We are a 2 minute walk from the beautiful Botanic Gardens, Visitors Centre, Tanks Entertainment precinct, National Park and rainforest boardwalk. Google it! The Cairns Esplande is close by with a running/roller blading/cycling track, kids activity playground, beach volleyball court and skate park. The closest beach is 10 mins drive away near the Uni, boat club, marina, cable ski park, Kuranda Scenic Railway and Skyrail cable car.
