Profile: Family-of-4

Two school children and two working adults make up our family. We have travelled, but Brisbane is very much home.
We are keen for different opportunities in Australia and overseas. We are particularly looking to stay in New Zealand (prefer Sth Island) for two weeks in Easter 2012 and 4-6 weeks in December 2013 to Jan 2014; western Canada, USA and South America from June 2013 to December 2014.
Our kids will look after any house that they find themselves in - and they love the idea of being in new places.
We have a couple of boats and a few spare bikes that we are willing to share - Brisbane is a good place for both.

About our House: 3 level open plan house - architect designed, light and airy. Clean and renovated, but still retaining original features. The house has a new kitchen.
The four bedrooms/study are air conditioned, but most of the time, insulation, flow through ventilation, ceiling fans and big extractor fan take care of the cooling. There is also a spa in the garden. Windows and doors are fully screened and secure.
Slow combustion fire in winter - with plenty of wood available.
The house has two living areas, with separate digital TV/DVDs.
Outside are two decks with tables on both and cover for sun and rain.

Easy walk to cafes, parks, shops and restaurants. Walking trails and bike tracks are nearby and Brisbane Forest Park also caters for mountain bikes. Bus stops are close and regular.
The city is 10 minutes by car (a bit longer by bus!) and offers the state art gallery, library, museum, performing arts centre and Soutbank parklands. All are great for kids, especially in holidays.
There are several local cinemas and theatres.
The river is nearby and ferry services are a fun way to tour. There is also a boat cruise to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.
Moreton Bay is 40 minutes away, for boating, jet skis, cruises and trips to Moreton and Stradbroke Island.
Dreamworld, Movieworld and Wet and Wild are 45 minutes, with another 20 minutes to Seaworld and surf beaches.
