We moved to this home 11 years ago We thoroughly enjoy living here, the open plan and indoor/outdoor layout gives a relaxed holiday home feel that we find ideal for relaxing and or entertaining.
With Sydneys year round mild climate we often dine (breakfast, lunch or dinner) at the outdoor dining table on the deck.
We have enjoyed a number of international home exchanges including, Hawaii, Colorado, Yorkshire, & several locations in the south of France.

About our House: A beach style, easy maintenance, three bedroom 2 bathroom, open plan home nestled among the gum trees and other Australian fauna.
Built on three levels, the 3rd, top level is separated from the rest of the house with it's own separate entrance . This is used by our adult daughters or friends when they visit & is not included in the home exchange.
The main home used for exchange has, on the middle level, 2 bedrooms (1 Queen, 1 single bed) a study, bathroom, modern kitchen with gas hotplates, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, it has a dining area & lounge room. The main lounge is fully equipped with sofas, lounge chairs, a large LCD TV, DVD, stereo equipment and a wide range of CDs. The floor to ceiling glassed lounge/dining room on the middle level opens out onto the large timber deck overlooking the bush view. The deck has a large outdoor dining table & chairs.

The ground floor lounge serves as a theatre room or guest bedroom with a sofa bed that converts to a double bed. It also has a large plasma TV , coffee table and comfortable lounge chairs.

Allambie Heights is situated on Sydneys northern Beaches, it's a leafy suburb 7 minutes from Freshwater surfing beach, 10 minutes from Manly Beach and 30 minutes from the city of Sydney. The life style is relaxed and casual.
Busses service the area on a regular basis.
A large shopping Mall complete with a variety of large and small stores and a five cinema complex is also minutes away. Taronga Zoo is a mere 15 minutes away. It takes approximately 60 minutes to reach Sydney International Airport using public transport.

Manly ferries transport you across Sydney harbour to the Opera house, Harbour Bridge, museums, art galleries, the historic Rocks area and the commercial centre of Sydney. We are in close proximity to three public access golf courses.
Other local activities include beach volley ball, sailing, surfing, parasailing, lawn bowling and scuba diving.
