I work in marketing and my husband is a tv producer. We have a 6 year old daughter and have recently adopted a 4 year old cat. Our home is in the middle of South Yarra with all the attractions and amenities on offer including shopping, restaurants, cinemas ,cafes and bars. There is easy access to the extensive Botanic Gardens, Yarra River, MCG, NGV City of Melbourne and Bayside beaches. .

About our House: Our house is a single fronted Victorian with a front verandah that is a perfect size for two people to share a glass of wine in the evening, looking onto the private front lawn and garden beds. There are two bedrooms, an open study with ADSL2 Wireless Broadband and large kitchen/dining/family room. At the rear is a green and leafy outdoor patio which we use for meals almost all year round. There is off street parking behind that for up to two medium cars. There is also a BBQ. The centre of the house has a glass atrium roof and opens onto a Japanese influenced courtyard, which is also accessed from one bedroom and the bathroom. Our bedroom has a queen size bed and ceiling fan and our daughters a king single. The bathroom has a bath/shower combo and includes the washing machine and dryer.
The kitchen has a gas stovetop and electric oven and microwave. There is also a dishwasher. Heating is via a wall furnace at the back of the house and a heat bank in the hallway.
The dining table expands to comfortably seat 6 - 8 people and the lounge area beyond accommodates our LCD TV, DVD and Foxtel IQ, This area opens out through an almost full width sliding door to the rear patio and outdoor setting which can accommodate 6.
Even though the map would indicate we are in the hub of South Yarra's busiest spot, our street is remarkably quiet because there is no vehicle access to the always bustling Chapel St. The Jam Factory entertainment precinct is about 2 minutes walk and all the prime designer fashion shops are the same distance. There is also the Como Cinema and shopping centre at the other end of the road with the newly established Vogue Plaza offering supermarkets and other retail facilities a further 5 minutes away. The tram stop is at the end of the street into the city via the Botanic Gardens or the railway station is also just up the road. There are about 4 supermarkets in a 2 square kilometre radius !. We have a 2003 Subaru Forester (manual) that we can offer for a car swap.
Our house is not particularly modern but is certainly clean and charming. Unusually for houses like this it has plenty of internal light due to the central atrium in the hallway - which is why we bought it 10 years ago !
We travelled a fair bit before our daughter was born and now that she is a little older would like to start again.
