Profile: Family-of-5 - Completed House Swaps: 2
We are a friendly and outgoing farming family of five. My husband I are are in our late 30's & we have three gorgeous children aged 9, 6 and 3 1/2years. Our sheep and cattle property is located in picturesque Central West NSW. My husband manges the property and I have a small cupcake business mainly servicing the Orange area. In my pre-children life I was a Midwife and Child & Family Health Nurse working in many areas in the Central West.
Sydney would be a great weekend/school holiday destination as we have many family members and friends living there particularly in and around the North Shore area. Then there's the beach - we have three little people who love the beach (we do too!) and now that we have 2 children at school we are looking at taking holidays in the school holidays and not in term time like we have done in the past. We have quite an unusual home this being a 106 year old shearing shed that we converted to a home. We moved in on it's centenary in 2006. We love our home and are proud of what we have restored historically and transformed into a famlily home with many green features. Our home is very orderly, clean and tidy and our garden is coming along well. We would respect and look after your home as we do ours. As much as we love living where we do we look forward to having a few breaks each year visiting the city and coastal areas and enjoying what these areas have to offer.

About our House: We live in a large and spacious house set in a 2 acre enclosed yard. This home would well and truly suit a family with young children - plenty of toys and space to play inside and out. It would also suit multiple couples looking for a quiet and relaxing retreat. The kitchen is a long galley style kitchen with a large walk in pantry. Given where we live geographically I do a lot cooking and wonderfully have a kitchen that accomodates this. There's a cooker with twin ovens & 5 gas burner, dishdrawer dishwasher, Belfast ceramic sink, coffee machine and fridge/freezer side by side in the pantry. The house is very open living plan with floor to roof being 7m. There is a large outdoor living area that is undercover - this is fantastic for BBQ's as well as any days that are a bit wet - a great place for the kids to head outside for a play. There is a family area off the kitchen with couches/armchairs and a TV area. The Wool Press circa 1913 is a Ferrier timber wool press it is still in it's original position in the family room - a great feature. The master bedroom has queen bed, walk-in robe and an ensuite with bath & shower - fantastic views of the garden from here. The childrens bedroms all have a single bed and plenty of space. The main bathroom is in a 3 way format with seperate toilet, shower and bath. We have a large water supply for the house. The guest room is on the lower level of the house near the dining/lounge room and has a double bed with ensuite. The dining/lounge room is a play room haven with large dining tables and couches and plenty of floor space for playing, the views from the sunroom is divine and a great spot to sit and have a cuppa. The laundry is enormous and has a front load washing machine with wall tumble dryer and large double cement sink. The garden has a trampoline and swing set for the kids and expansive lawn area for a game of footy or soccer. There is also a carport that can accomodate 2 vehicles
We live pretty well in the middle of Bathurst, Orange & Cowra. The closest major regional centre to us is Orange with population of approx 38,000 and it is 4 hrs west of Sydney. Orange has an endless amount of attractions for all the family. Orange is a major regional food centre with fantastic restaurants such as Lolli Redinis, La Colline, Mayfield, Belgravia at the Union Bank & The Old Convent. The vineyards are endless and the quality of cool climate wines are outstanding for more detailed info of each vineyard this website is helpful http://www.winesoforange.com.au/other.htm Then there's the parks and gardens, the botanic gardens, Cook Park and Mount Canobolas. The Orange Farmers Markets on the 2nd Sat of each month are vibrant, diverse and bursting with local produce from the Orange Region. 2011 will mark the 20th Anniversary of F.O.O.D Week and a year not to miss with 10 days of foodie celebrations throughout the region. More info on Millthorpe, Bathurst, Cowra, Blayney and Carcoar will be listed shortly.
