Profile: Couple-Retired - Completed House Swaps: 2
We are an active, retired couple who enjoy travel. We have housesat on several occasions which has worked really well. We believe our home is ideal for exchanging as it is low maintainance and
in a lovely position.
Type: House, Bathrooms: 2, Bedrooms: 3, Sleeps: 4
About our House: Our brick home is 3 years old in a quiet location. It is light, bright and easy care. 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom plus en suite to main bedroom. The lounge can be separated from the family/kitchen room by a sliding door. There is a separate laundry.
An undercover deck with table/chairs and bbq, leads to a 2 car garage which apart from our vehicles, houses 2 bikes. The garden is small but if you visit at the right time of year, you'll be able to pick your own lettuce, herbs, and whatever other veg/salad items are growing.
Our home is a comfortable 20 min walk from ocean and bayside beaches at the Heads of Port Phillip Bay. Ships pass our way to enter Melbourne. The village of Point Lonsdale has a supermarket, chemist, newsagent & post office,ATM,several coffee shops/cafes & alfresco dining places,2 bakeries, clothing shops, opp.shop, gift shop & Community Health Centre. The shopping precinct is opposite the bay beach & you can watch the passing ships as you stand at the supermarket check-out!The heritage town of Queenscliff is just 5klms via road or a walk/cycle track.A steam train operates from here & a tour of historic Fort Queenscliff is a great experience. Grand hotels dating back to the Victorian era & a rich maritime history add to the attraction. Exclusive shopping and a good variety of eateries are available here. A 40min ferry trip takes passengers to Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula, the opposite side of Pt Philip Bay. A 30min drive or local bus takes you into the city of Geelong where there is a good variety of shops/cafes/museums/theatres etc. A 1 hour train journey from here takes you into the centre of Melbourne, making it a comfortable day return trip. There are endless day trips along the Great Ocean Road and around our Peninsula to be enjoyed from our location.
