Profile: Family-of-4 - Completed House Swaps: 11
We're a travel-loving family of four - husband Chris is a architectural draftsman, I'm a publicist and freelance travel writer, and our daughters are slightly quirky princesses aged almost 4 and almost 6.
We aim to travel as much as we can as our daughters are growing up and are trying to keep life simple so we can achieve that goal. We have successfully house swapped / house sat a number of times and it works so well for us - we leave properties spotless, and expect the same in return. It's the best way to see a new area or country, and we can't wait to hear from you.
From July 2012 we are based in Chiang Mai, Thailand - one of our favourite locations in the world! We hope to do lots of house swaps from here around the globe.
Type: House, Bathrooms: 1, Bedrooms: 2, Sleeps: 6
About our House: A relaxed family home in semi-rural Chiang Mai, this is an ideal base for families wanting to explore one of Thailand's most popular cities.
Located about 10 minutes from the 'Old Town' city centre, our home is in a residential area, surrounded by traditional Thai families.
We have a weekly housewoman who comes and does the cleaning and some washing, and can also make recommendations about a cook if you require.
As a holiday destination - we can't recommend Chiang Mai highly enough! It's absolutely gorgeous, and you will never run out of animal parks to visit, tiny tea houses to while the hours away, and market stalls to explore.
2 bedrooms upstairs plus an open room, sleep 2 adults, 2 kids and there's spare beds for another 2 people.
It's a standard Thai style bathroom (very basic but clean)
Downstairs is the kitchen, living room and outdoor deck.
As the house is quite open air (with insect screens) it's very cool, we don't need airconditioning. Heaps of established trees in the large fully walled garden also add to shade.
Chiang Mai is an incredible, vibrant yet small city located in the North of Thailand (where it's cooler!), known as the Rose of Thailand, because of its incredible gardens.
You can spend months here and not run out of things to do.
But here's some of our favourites:
