We are a semi-retired couple still working part time/casual - Jeff is a teacher, Kaye is a PCA. We have interests in exercise, MG Car Club. Jeff is also a historian/writer. We love travelling and are open to offers from 2012 onwards - short term... say.. 3-4 weeks at a time.
Type: House, Bathrooms: 2, Bedrooms: 3, Sleeps: 5
About our House: We have a modern, but period-inspired 3 bedroom +study house. Extremely comfortable in winter and summer. Outdoor barbeque area - alfresco, pool, good size yard and garden. There is a two-car garage and driveway with off-street parking. Main bedroom has full ensuite + second bathroom for the other two b/rooms. Each bedroom has a flat-screen TV, carpeted. Large flat screen TV in familyroom. Living/dining has open fire + ducted gas heating to the whole house. Full air-conditioning for summer. Kitchen - modern with electric oven and stove, microwave, dishwasher. Beautiful quiet street - great neighbours - typical neighbourhood - access to freeways and transport.
In a green-belt area surrounded by gum trees with visits from native parrots, galahs and cockatoos (they're a bit noisy!)
Melbourne is a large city and we are in the leafy, outer suburbs, close to the Dandenong Ranges - beautiful day-trip. We have many parks including natural bushland parks such as Jells Park which is within walking distance. Large shopping centres are close by - The Glen, Knox City and Chadstone. Easy transport by car, bus, train or Melbourne's trams although a car is really essential. Happy to negotiate for use of our car to get around.
Freeways link easily with the Mornington Peninsula or the wine region - The Yarra Valley.
The CBD is a thriving, vibrant city - exceptionally clean and very livable. Best restaurants in Australia - Southbank, Docklands, St Kilda. Not far to the Victorian countryside - Ballarat and Bendigo in the Central Goldfields, Gippsland, the snowfields of the Victorian Alps, (beautiful summer and winter) not to mention the beaches. Port Phillip Bay has quiet, safe beaches. We are not far from the surf beaches, Gunnamatta, Bell's Beach, Jan Juc, Sorrento etc. Climate - typical Mediterranean - mild winters (usually) - can get hot in summer.
