We are an active family of 6, with three girls aged 8, 4 and 2 years old and a son who just turned 7. I was getting more and more frustrated about the rising accomodation costs everywhere, even when tenting, so we decided to give house swapping a shot. We were amazed to find a huge house swap community on the internet and are quite excited about this new way of holidaying.
Mark runs his own IT business, with me staying home to look after the kids and the financial side of the business remotely. We love this place because you are in walking distance to the brand new shopping centre, Boambee creek reserve, which is great for smaller Kids, and Boambee & Murrays Beaches which are great for swimming, beach walking and rock climbing. We often take the bikes and ride to the beautiful centre of Sawtell with its boutiques, cinema and many great cafes and restaurants.
Coffs Harbour is only a short cartrip away and has a lot to offer, like great surfing beaches, the Big Banana Tourist attractions, Pet Porpoise Pool, Creek walk, brand new Sky walk, indoor playcentres, and so much more.
We also love the Coffs hinterland as we lived there for 8 years before moving to the coast - it is just gorgeous and great for taking day trips or even going on an organized white water rafting tour!
Type: House, Bathrooms: 1, Bedrooms: 4, Sleeps: 7
About our House: Our home is a cosy 4 bedroom split level house with large family room/dining/kitchen area and an extra large guest bedroom in the granny flat. The kids rooms offer two children's beds as well as a toddler bed and a baby cot. A single bed & two extra mattresses are available in the granny flat for older children. We love IKEA so the interior looks a little bit like an IKEA showroom, I guess. The level back yard is fully fenced and great for the kids to play. There is a fort, swings, sandpit, basketball hoop, soccer goals and a flying fox.
For rainy days there is a large flatscreen TV on board as well as a Wii gfaming console with four remotes. Wireless internet for the computer fans and stacks of board games & toys for all age groups.
You can walk to the shops in Toormina or picturesque Sawtell and to the beach as well as the very child friendly Boambee Creek Reserve with playgrounds, BBQs and shallow swimming in the river, perfect for young children and babies.
Coffs Harbour is just an eight minutes drive away with it's beautiful Jetty & marina, shops & restaurants. This is also a great destination for a bicycle trip, with cycle ways virtually all the way to the marina.
The Coffs Harbour area boasts endless outdoors attractions, yet fairly restricted rainy day activities, but then again... our house is full of games, puzzles, toys, and, not to forget, a Wii console!
Please check out Coffs Tourism websites to get a better picture of our beautiful surroundings. Beach, Bush, Mountains, Lakes... it's all there!
We have a cat, Rocket, a guinea pig, Mickey, a bird called cheeky and a rabbit, Lucky Brownie, all males and easy to look after
