Beryl and I are both retired and, although originally from the UK,we have been in Brisbane for over 40 years.
Beryl worked as a nursing assistant at the Royal Brisbane Hospital for many years although she is qualified in childcare. Mike was in business management.
We both lead active lives with Beryl enjoying her weekly game of tennis whilst Mike plays golf a couple of times a week. Beryl is also on the committee of our local gardening club, and has also been involved in several volunteer activities over the years.
Type: House, Bathrooms: 2, Bedrooms: 3, Sleeps: 4
About our House: Whilst our house is on 3 acres and considered rural/residential we are,in fact, only 10 minutes from major shopping centres and all other facilities. We have four bedrooms, one of which has been converted to an office/computer room. The remaining bedrooms all have double beds, and the main bedroom is airconditioned and has an ensuite bathroom.
The large lounge has a feature fireplace and includes an audio system, plasma TV and is airconditioned. There is a separate dining room and a kitchen featuring Tasmanian Oak cupboards , dishwasher, fridge, cooker and microwave. A verandah runs the full length of the house and all rooms overlook our landscaped gardens.
We have access to the bay islands, about 15-20 minutes away, the largest of which is beautiful Stradbroke (an hour across the bay by ferry) with it's dolphins, white sandy beaches and (in season) whale watching. The Gold Coast is a short drive south and is renowned for it's world class beaches, theme parks and endless supply of cafes and restaurants. From the whirlwind that is Surfers to the serenity of Currumbin - there is something for everyone. The Sunshine Coast (90 minutes north) offers Noosa,Mooloolaba and the beautiful hinterland towns of Maleny and Montville. Not as glitzy as the Gold Coast, but certainly it's equal in lifestyle and beaches.
