Self-employed couple in our forties, originally from Europe, with 1 cat and no kids. We're active, health-conscious, and love the outdoors.

Most of our work is online, so we can work from anywhere. We would like to experience more of Australia and the world by living in different places for a few weeks or months at a time, while knowing our cat is happy and looked after in our own home.

We are very responsible people. If we swap with you, we will look after your home and pets very well and treat them with the best possible care and attention.

We love locations in low-traffic urban areas that are very 'walkable', and particularly like quiet streets not too far from local shops etc. We favour urban villages such as our own Jetty area in Coffs Harbour, Fitzroy and St. Kilda in Melbourne, and similar places with a relaxed village-feel but close to all amenities and a good, lively vibe.

We don't like very hot climates so are not interested in swaps to Queensland or other hot places, especially in summer.

We have a friendly 6-year old female short-haired tabby cat that we would prefer to stay at home while we're away, so our ideal 'swappers' are people who like cats and don't mind feeding her and giving her some cuddles.

About our House: Light, modern and uncluttered 2-storey family home in a fantastic leafy location in the popular Coffs Harbour Jetty area. The house has a large covered verandah at the front with (distant) mountain and sunset views plus a courtyard/garden at the side and back. Double garage downstairs.

There are 3 bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have a queen-size bed. The third bedroom is set up and used as an office. The house has 3 bathrooms. Tile and laminate flooring throughout the house (good for people with allergies and easy to clean).

The house is set back from the road and therefore quiet and private, yet it's only a 10-minute walk down to the harbour, marina, Jetty Beach and the Jetty strip of restaurants. We're also just a 6-minute drive from the local airport, which has direct flights to Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.

ADSL2+ WiFi internet access. Austar TV and movie channels. Car swap possible. Two mountain/hybrid bicycles and fishing gear available for use.

The house is ideal for a couple. Maybe less suitable for small children because of stairs.

The Promenade: boutique shops and 2 restaurants overlooking Coffs Creek (3-min walk).

Jetty Restaurant Strip and Jetty Village Shopping Centre: plenty of cafes, restaurants, takeaways, shops, a gym and a supermarket (8-min walk).

Jetty Beach & Jetty Foreshores: safe swimming beach, walking track, picnic tables, barbecues, etc (10-min walk).

Coffs Creek walk/cycle track: 9-km loop along the creek through nature, linking the ocean with the city centre (3-min walk to creek, 25-min walk to CBD).

Sunday markets: at the Jetty Foreshores and inside Jetty Village Shopping Centre (10-min walk).

Marina: fishing co-op for fresh fish, yachts, fishing charters, whale-watching cruises, etc. (12-min walk).

Muttonbird Island: nature reserve on a hilly island attached to the marina with walking track and magnificent views (15-min walk).

One 6-year old friendly female cat: Knuffel. Easy to care for. Loves cuddles once she gets used to new people (after 1-2 days). We love pets (especially cats) and would love to care for yours while you look after our cat during your stay.
