We are young retirees in our sixties who enjoy travel, reading, quiz nights and cooking for friends.
On warm balmy evenings we love to sit in our courtyard or down by the river here with a picnic watching the dolphins.
We also enjoy various trips away in our caravan. When on our travels we like to do all the normal sight seeing, plus maybe visit an occasional winery for lunch. We are members of a Collectors Club. We are in our element going to Antique and Collectors Fairs and fossicking in antique shops and at markets in search of little treasures.

We are booked for Ireland for 6 weeks June/July. Ready to travel again in from 19th July 2013 Paris or Italy preferred.
We would also love to go to Krabi & Koh Samui sometime in the non wet seasons.

About our House: Our home is a single storey, small easy care villa unit on the prestigious award winning Ascot Waters Estate on the Swan River.
There are 2 main bedrooms with a queen size bed in one and double bed in the other. Another smaller bedroom we use as a study. One bathroom with a separate WC. Off the fitted kitchen is a laundry room with front loader washing machine. The lounge & kitchen area have reverse cycle air conditioning/heating.

Small limestone walled courtyard garden with a covered patio with cafe blinds, ideal for dining or sitting reading the papers. The garden and grass verge is reticulated on a timer.
We live on a crescent which is lined with attractive jacaranda trees, see photo. There is a good community feeling here and we are fortunate in having excellent neighbours.
Our vehicle is a manual 2010 Subaru Forester which may be made available, to be discussed. Phone/ wireless broadband connection. I have a spare lap top I can set up for you if you do not bring a lap top or IPAD with you.

Ascot Waters Estate is very beautiful, with boat marina, island, lakes, parkland and gardens. There are walkways, and barbecue areas on our estates island with views over Perth and Maylands yacht club. Cycle & walking tracks go virtually all along the Swan River on both sides. Black swans, pelicans and all manner of birdlife flourish on our estate's lake, and dolphins often come up the river here and swim in our boat marina. There are picturesque walks along 3 sides of the river here in Ascot. Within easy walking distance of the Ascot Racecourse which is a great day out at a pretty venue with water lily lake and canna lillies in the central area.

It is easy walking to nearby restaurants and some splendid ones on the river such as 150 East which is in Ascot, (see their websites for more info.) Short drive to the Crown Casino's bars & restaurants to suit any income range or food style. It has a golf course there. Burswood Park has outside cinema at night where you can take you wine and a picnic, and it has guided tours in the day. We are close to 2 bowls clubs and we have a very nice set of bowls here you are welcome to use.

We are less than 10 minutes drive to the Perth CBD for the cultural centre, restaurants, theatres, the Perth Mint, shopping etc and not to mention the famous King's Park. CAT buses,( free bus service) take you on 4 different routes all around the CBD.
It is only15 minutes drive the opposite direction for the delightful Swan Valley wineries, restaurants, cheese factory, nougat & chocolate factory, arts and crafts & various boutique breweries and also the nearby Whiteman Park and Caversham Wildlife Park.

Local shopping malls are only 5 minutes away in each direction north & south on the circular bus route. This is a very good transport system with the circular bus passing the estate every 15 minutes. Meltham train station is just 2 minutes drive away. We are within easy reach of both the domestic and international airports which now have a link road between them. The old port town of Fremantle is half an hour away. Superb beaches stretching south and north. All manner of water sports available.
