Profile: Couple
We are a young professional couple (late 20's/early 30's) Barry is a project manager, Melissa works in marketing.
We enjoy travelling and are open to offers to see more of Australia (& the world!).
We are very house proud, and would care for your home in the same way.
Type: House (Town House), Bathrooms: 2 1/2, Bedrooms: 3, Sleeps: 6
About our House: Our home is a 3 bedroom double story townhouse, built in late 2010. Downstairs is a large lounge with big couch and TV (along with all other electronic accessories!), at the rear is a large open plan kitchen & dining area, which steps out to a small deck & courtyard, complete with BBQ, table & chairs. The kitchen is well equipped as we both love to cook. There is also a downstairs powder room. Upstairs are 3 good size bedrooms, each with queen beds, and 2 bathrooms.
Our location is nice and quiet, but also convenient. There is easy access to a number of main thoroughfares which can take you into the city (25 to 40mins depending on traffic), or to the airport (10 to 20 mins). It is a 2 minute walk to a well serviced bus stop which runs to the nearby train station, giving you a 30 to 45 min trip to the city.
There is a local shopping centre with Safeway & Aldi only 3 minutes walk away; for more full-on shopping Highpoint Shopping Centre is only a 5 minute drive, and Essendon DFO about 10 mins.
Locally we are close to the Maribynong River & Brimbank Park, both of which have lovely walking & bike tracks and make you feel far removed from city life. The surrounding suburbs have plenty of nice cafes & restaurants, and the more famous eating precincts of Fitzroy & Carlton are not too far away.
Depending on your persuasion, the home of the Essendon Football Club is only 5 mins away (Footscray, North Melbourne & Carlton arent too far away either!!), Easy access to the city opens up all the attractions of the CBD, Docklands and the surrounding inner suburbs. We are also close to Flemington & Moonee Valley Racecourses, the Showgrounds, and Melbourne Zoo.
There is quick access onto the Western Ring Road, which opens up day trips, particularly to the North & West.
We have a 3 year old black & white cat named Roy who has a relaxed personality. Ideally our house swap would be able to keep an eye on him, but we could also look at making other arrangements if necessary.
