About our Apartment / Unit: I have a 2 bedroom apartment which has all comforts, with LCD TV, DVD player, well-stocked kitchen etc. Both bedrooms have a double bed. There is air-conditioning/heating. Whilst there is no internet access, prepaid modems are very cheap and easy to obtain in Australia (e.g. $30 for a USB modem with 1 month's credit). If required, I could arrange for a laptop to be available (it is quite old, and a bit slow, but useable!) There are no pets/plants to care for. The apartment comes with a garage, and is accessible only via security pass.

Very frequent trams pass by the front door - going through Melbourne city to St Kilda beach and elsewhere. It only takes 10 minutes to stroll down into Melbourne central, however! The University of Melbourne and several tertiary hospitals (the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Royal Women's and Royal Children's Hospitals) are around the corner. Within 5 minutes' walk is also the famous Lygon Street precinct, which has lots of restaurants (many of which are touristy, but there are a couple of gems). In Melbourne city itself are theatres, museums, galleries, and a world class array of dining options.

I am spending a year away in Cairns, which is why I am able to offer up this apartment for non-simultaneous/ synchronous exchanges. The best thing I could envisage would be to store up some credit so that we could borrow your home for a few weeks either later this year or in the next few years! If you would prefer a few weeks in Cairns - my apartment there (also 2 bedroom, overlooking the harbour!) will probably be available in November 2012.

I am single, professional, and very neat; in my travels I would be likely to travel with 1 or 2 others. We would take care of your home :).

We are open to offers from anywhere, but are particularly interested in the US for November 2012.

Museums, theatres, art galleries, cinemas, the Melbourne Zoo, beach via tram, China town, restaurants, cafes, shopping. Public transport extremely convenient - trams at doorstep, walk or tram to train station. Airport shuttle bus will take ~20 minutes to Tullamarine airport (or catch a taxi).
