Profile: Couple-Retired
We are a semi-retired professional couple. Dale was the Branch Manager of a Credit Union for 25 years, and Kerry worked within Local Government and Health Management as a Personnal Assistant. Five years ago we embarked on a Sea-Change relocating from Victoria to Tasmania and we now undertake occasional Relief Management for a number of Tourism Facilities. We are responsible, honest, and reliable people who take great pride in our property, and we would naturally treat your property with the utmost care and respect.
Type: House (Two Storey Western Red Cedar), Bathrooms: 2, Bedrooms: 3, Sleeps: 4
About our House: Our house is built on an escarpement with uninterrupted views of Georges Bay/St Helens (gateway to the Bay of Fires). A zig zag path winds through our property to a quiet dirt road, and to the Bays edge. The house is open plan layout with a combined Kitchen/Dinning and Living Area with a wall of windows that overlook a charming cottage garden, the Bay, and beyond to the Blue Tiers mountain range. There are three bedrooms (Main with a Queen Bed & small En-Suite), two other bedrooms, one with a Queen Bed, and the other a Double Bed. Adjacent to the Kitchen/Living area is a recreation room that has a 6 person outdoor spa plus Weber BBQ and this room also overlooks the Bay. The house is heated by a wood heater, and there is an ample supply of firewood in the woodshed.
By car we are 5 mins from the Port of St Helens, 15 mins from the renowned Bay of Fires, 60 mins from the scenic coastal town of Bicheno, 90 mins from the iconic Freycinet National Park (Wineglass Bay) and 2 hours from Maria Island.
Georges Bay is a well known fishing spot, & several fishing jetties are located around the bay.
Also in the area are The Eddystone Point Lighthouse, Mt William National Park, St Columba Falls, Humbug Point Reserve, Shelly Beach, St Patricks Head.
The Ben Lomond National Park is a two hour drive, & offers skiing & fine alpine walking.
