Profile: Couple
We a non smoking couple in our 40s and 50s and have two very sweet and slightly spoiled cocker spaniel. We both work for the government in management roles. We love living in Queensland and have spent a lot of time renovating our house and creating a garden so they reflect our outdoor tropical lifestyle and give us lots of space to cook and entertain at home.
Type: House, Bathrooms: 2, Bedrooms: 3, Sleeps: 6
About our House: Our house is typical 1950s Queensland house that we have renovated in a tropical style with a Bali flavour. The front courtyard garden has large shade trees and palms and is the perfect place to sit and watch the birds.
The dining and living areas are open plan with a large covered deck off the back of the house. The deck caters for the Queensland lifestyle with a fan, shade blinds, gourmet BBQ, 10 seater dining table and outdoor seating.
The main living level has a large master bedroom with king sized bed, study renovated bathroom and a kitchen with everything you need if you love to cook. A third bedroom has been turned into a dressing room but has a double inflatable bed if needed.
Downstairs features a large rumpus room with TV and entertainment equipment, a bedroom with double bed, laundry and bathroom with shower.
The house is very dog friendly with wooden floors and tiles and doggy doors throughout that are suitable for small to medium sized dogs. The small backyard features frangipani trees has a lawn area so kids (or dogs) can play safely.
We are a few minutes walk from an express bus line which takes you straight to the city in 15-20 minutes.
Brisbane is a great city and very cosmopolitan. Our house is on the north side of the city, the Sunshine and Gold Coasts are only about an hours drive and Steve Irwins famous Australia Zoo is 45 minutes away. Brisbane has a great cultural precinct located on the bank of the Brisbane River that features GOMA (the Gallery of Modern Art) and has beach in the middle of the city. A trip on the city cat (high speed catamarans) is a must, there are lots of great cafes and restaurants and many local markets.
