We are a husband and wife with a 21-month-old little girl who is properly house trained! I work as a travel writer and photographer, while my husband works as a SAP consultant, part time renovator & hobby pilot plus we run several of our own holiday properties in Melbourne and Daylesford, Victoria. We are frequent travellers given the nature of my job and we love the concept of house swapping in order to see more of the world and to live in another person's shoes/home for a while. We love the countryside, beach, anything with a river running through it, cities. As long as there's a decent cafe nearby we'll love your place and treat it as we do our own (my husband in particularly is fastidious...we have to be given we run our own holiday properties). There's also the opportunity to swap with our holiday properties in Elwood, St Kilda and Daylesford VIC.

About our House: Beautiful, restored, brick Californian Bungalow with white walls and polished floorboards. Quiet street with great neighbours. Walk to beautiful bushland reserve, and 5 minute drive to Newcastle's lovely beaches. Fantastic open-plan extension and back deck for alfresco BBQs, enclosed yard. House has sparkling, renovated bathroom (with bath), plus a separate toilet off the laundry. All mod cons including ducted air conditioning/heating. Gorgeous gardens with iceberg roses, lavender and frangipani tree. Stunning Jacarandas line our street and there's a charming front balcony for sundowners. Two bedrooms have super comfy queen size beds with quality linen. The third bedroom is set up as a nursery so if you have a little one, they'll feel right at home. We have plenty of children's books, toys, bikes etc. We're both interested in interior decorating so the house has a contemporary feel with quirky features like vintage type writers, old bus rolls, retro red scooter and more.

Newcastle's bustling Darby Street precinct, beautiful beaches and historic ocean baths, bushland reserves including Blackbutt which has Australian wildlife, walks and picnic grounds, cafes, markets, harbour, Port Stephens less than an hour's drive away, country villages of Morpeth and wineries of the Hunter Valley, Barrington Tops and more. Sydney is two hours drive away or there's a train or seaplane service.
