Hi we are a family of four who love the natural world and travelling in a simple way. Tom is a teacher of children and I am a business and life empowerment coach. Our children (2022) are 10 and 8. We are responsible, friendly, easy to communicate with and know how to take care of any house, in a past life I managed and cleaned BnB's. For our next swap we seek a house in WA's south coast for end of Dec to January for about 2 or 3 weeks. Ideally around Denmark, Albany or Margaret River. Can't wait! Please get in contact.

Welcome to Rainbow River a 7 acre self sustainable sanctuary nestled in the Byron Shire Hinterland.
HOUSE: Our sweet 2/3 bedroom house is open plan with a renovated kitchen, amazing views, a relaxing veranda and fireplace nook that is currently our daughters bedroom.
The master bedroom has tropical views and a Queen bed.
The 2nd room has a single bed.
The fireplace nook room is suitable for a child under 10. It has a mini bed, but we can leave a single camp mattress for here if needed too or there's a single day bed in the lounge to sleep a 4th person in the main house.
The main house has 1 bathroom with bath & shower and a laundry.
There is also a quaint cabin out the front (6m from the house) which provides another self contained space. It accommodates 2 people in a double sofa bed (Ikea new and comfy). It has a kitchenette inside and an outdoor bathroom complete with compost toilet, vanity and large shower. The cabin is my office so let me know if you need it as I'll move my things into a storage box.
THE LAND: The land has a lovely natural pool (dam) that is great for swimming when it's full in summer and a babbling creek that has some nice swimming areas. There are chickens, fruit trees and a vege patch out the back. You can get fresh eggs and fresh veges and fruits in season. We run with permaculture principals and the land and produce is organic.
We are on a septic system here, so we only use eco-friendly products - no chemicals please. And we are on rain water. The kitchen has filtered rain water to drink. And there's a filtered water urn in cabin.
PLEASE NOTE: There are 2 cabins on the land that are habited by lovely women. Sometimes they may be away in holidays too, which means you'll the land all to yourself! One is about 10m behind the house, but you don't even know she's there unless you see her go out, she's very quiet and private & will not bother you at all. The other is 100m away at the entrance of the property and you wouldn't even know she was there.
PET CARE:
We have 10 chooks that are situated about 100m away from the house in a large chook shed and run. They need the door to their chook shed opened each morning so they can forage in large free range fenced area and closed each night to prevent any animals eating them. They have a self feeder & water station that and will need checking only twice in a week, so it's pretty easy).
We also have a friendly cat who needs feeding twice a day and loves cuddles.
If you go out at night you can close chickens in early (entice them in with a scrap bucket) and feed cat early too.

The Pocket is nestled in the Byron Bay hinterland 25 minutes to Byron town, 15 minds to Brunswick Heads, 12 minutes to South Golden Beach, 10 minutes to Mullum and 35 minds to Gold Coast airport (Coolangatta).
There is loads to do and see here including - surfing, hiking, bushwalking, cafe cruising, shopping, swimming in rivers, beach or waterfalls, hand gliding, parachuting, hot air ballooning, skydiving, scuba diving, kayaking, whale watching, fishing, bowling or just hanging in nature enjoying the wonderful surroundings.

We had a fantastic stay in a lovely home at South Golden Beach. The house is clean, roomy and comfortable with a long garden to enjoy and easy walk to the beach. The information pack that Emma had organised was helpful in making our stay very relaxing and comfortable. Our house was left as they found it when we got back home. Emma, Sanjay & children have a practical, spacious fully equipped home in South Golden Beach near Byron & surrounds. We had a fantastic swap with Emma and her family in summer 2015/16. I thought it was a very comparable swap, both having young families & busy lives meant we had similar expectations & hopes for the swap. It all went so smoothly as Emma was easy to communicate with, left plenty of handy information & was friendly & open about all aspects of house swapping. Her home is comfortable & is in a great location providing access to many of the great attractions of the nsw north coast- a picturesque fun part of the world! Emma & family were trustworthy & clean, leaving their home beautiful For our arrival & also leaving our home spotless for our next guests/swappers arriving as they departed. They left us a sweet surprise which was lovely. We were so pleased with this easy swap.
