House Swap with us

My husband is an IT professional and I work in government. Our big kids are 23 and 26 (and may travel with us) and 1 currently lives with us. We love to travel to coastal locations and big cities in Australia and overseas. We have completed at least fifteen swaps (we are only another website also) which we have loved. We are all fully house trained and respectful of our own and other people's property.

The House

The House

Large comfortable family home with views across Belconnen and the Brindabella mountains. It is built on a sloping block and the living areas and master bedroom have floor to ceiling windows to take advantage of the views. The house is light-filled and well maintained. It has a modern kitchen and 2 renovated bathrooms. The main living areas and 4 bedrooms are upstairs (1 x queen bed, 1 x double bed, 2 x king singles) and a rumpus room is downstairs (1 x queen bed and good quality sofa lounge if extra bedding required). There is plenty of outdoor/garden space (1000sqm block). To live comfortably in Canberra's temperature range, the house has ducted heating for winter and ducted air conditioning for summer. It is about 3 minutes walk to a reserve with walking and bike riding trails. Canberra is easy to get around by car and driving to the CBD takes around 12-15 minutes off-peak and 20-25 minutes during peak traffic. However, if you prefer public transport there is a bus stop about 100 metres from our front door.

Michelle's home is perfect for a swap. The home is very comfortable and spacious where we very much enjoyed the outlook over Canberra and the mountains. The home is filled with light and is uncluttered and tidy. The house is well organised and easy to live in with a great back garden. We stayed in the middle of winter and found the house very warm in all ways...electric blankets, under floor heating and heated towel rails. They cared for our house as if their own and left our home immaculately and very clean. Thanks for a successful house swap. Would swap again with them without hesitation.

Louise from Seaforth NSW (Aug 2018)

Our stay in Michelle's home in Canberra was most enjoyable. Their home is lovely and warm with plenty of room for our family. Michelle has a folder full of local places to explore and recommendations - we especially enjoyed the burgers at Brodburger at Kingston - thanks for the tip! They looked after our own house very well and we recommend swapping with Michelle and her family.

Rebecca & Aaron from North Manly NSW (Mar 2017)

We really enjoyed staying at Michelle's home in the ACT. Her home has plenty of open spaces to sit, indoors and outdoors. It is also easy to keep comfortably cool in summer (evaporative air-conditioning and ceiling fans). The front verandah afforded us a treat on New Year's eve as it has a great view and we were able to enjoy watching the fireworks in the distance. The home is also well located, only 5 minutes drive from Woolworths at Charnwood. An added bonus for us was Monty the dog. He is a super friendly chap and always happy to welcome us home after returning from our wanderings around Canberra in Michelle's late model car. Whilst we were away in Canberra, Michelle and her family took very good care of our house and car. Both were clean and tidy on our return. We have no hesitation in endorsing Michelle and her family as great house swappers. :-)

Deborah from Sandy Bay TAS (Jan 2017)

We really enjoyed our stay at Michelle's house. The kitchen was well appointed, the beds and lounges were really comfy and the courtyard was sunny and warm. The kids enjoyed the trampoline and my son had a great time downstairs on the playstation. The view from the front verandah was a highlight and we went walking up the hill behind for 360 degree views. The house is close to the local shops and restaurants and it's only a short drive in to Belconnen or the city for lots of places to eat and all the attractions of Canberra. Michelle was easy to contact and the swap was relaxing and enjoyable. Our house was spotless when we returned.

Belinda from Bulli NSW (Oct 2016)

Lovely home with great views across Canberra and all the modern conveniences. We came with an extended family and there was plenty of space for everyone. Our kids appreciated the games and trampoline. Everything in Canberra is easy to get to with a car and some of the attractions were very close. We had to be in Canberra for a particular week and the owners were really accommodating. Our own house was also well looked after - a great first swap for us.
