The House

The House

Kangaroo Island. It's called Nature's Paradise. Come and see it for yourself.

Our new home is in the centre of Kingscote and close to facilities.

Kingscote is the ideal location for touring the Island, visiting wilderness areas & historic sites, iconic Remarkable Rocks & Seal Bay. Enjoy the many walking trails, Art Galleries and tasting the Island's food and wine. South Australia's only Gin, Vodka and liqueurs boutique distillery and a small brewery are both on the outskirts of Kingscote.

Our "forever" home has been designed to be energy efficient, wheelchair friendly with disability facilities to cater for future needs. Rain water throughout the house. Guest bedroom has a queen size bed (consisting of two single beds joined together) and you have your own bathroom. A separate disability bathroom is available. Please note our internet speed is slow. Wifi available. The washing machine is a Haier Twin Tub, no drier nor dishwasher. The pot plants, fruit trees and veggie patch may need watering in the warmer months.

Please note 2016 - 2017 endorsements were for our previous home, which was on the outskirts of Kingscote. We have now downsized.

Kangaroo Island is Australia's 3rd biggest island, having 509 km of coastline, and is 155 km east to west and 55km north to south. You won't be crowded out, as we only have a total of 4500 residents but it can get very busy at peak tourist times.

We enjoyed a lovely house swap with Roger. His house on Kangaroo Island is in the main town and close to many tourist attractions. Communication was always pleasant and good will abounded.

Nicola from Varsity Lakes QLD (Oct 2023)

Located in Kingscote. 10 min walk to shops, cafes & beaches. The house is only a few years old, welcoming, clean & well presented, in a quiet street. Close to coastal walking tracks. Kingscote is a central location to most tourist attractions.

Julie & Ian from Pottsville Beach NSW (Dec 2022)

We had a fabulous time on Kangaroo Island and in Pat and Roger's lovely home. The home is extremely spacious and set on 5 acres just out of Kingscote. At night the front yard is covered in wallabies which was lovely to see. The kitchen was well appointed, beds were very comfy, house was clean. Lovely outdoor area under cover where you can sit and watch the Splendid Fairy Wrens and other birds flit amongst the bushes in the garden. There was a nice vegetable garden to water which was no trouble at all and we enjoyed veges from it. Highly recommended. Thanks Pat and Roger!

Trevor and Julie from Eudunda SA (Jan 2017)

Pat and Roger have a beautiful spacious home in the countryside near Kingscote. A wonderful base for exploring all that Kangaroo Island has to offer. There is plenty to do and see on the island as the food and wine is superb. This is only matched by the magnificent scenery and huge array of wildlife. Many thanks for a thoroughly enjoyable exchange.

Jo-Anne & Brad from Nth Maleny, QLD (Jul 2016)

A large comfortable house on a very large block.Ideally located within walking distance of the oldest and most interesting historical sites in S.A. Fresh fruit and veggies are a bonus
