Newport is a relaxed and leafy beach suburb in northern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales. It is part of the Northern Beaches region - approximately half way between Palm Beach to the North and Manly to the South. It has a great surf beach on one side of the peninsula and beautiful calm Pittwater on the other. There are many golf courses, cafes and restaurants all within a short drive.

The house we swapped with Lyn was very comfortable and very spacious for just two of us. Due to the weather (a lot of rain) we didn't venture too far beyond the Newport village but our trip to the Barrenjoey at Palm Beach lighthouse was memorable drive away between showers. There is bus transport very close by but on this occasion we had our own car. The area would be inviting in the Summer as there is a lovely big deck overlooking the sea.
