I am a Secondary School Teacher, Health and Physical Education, in my early 50's. My partner is a Engineering Technical Design Officer. We have 2 adult children studying at university, living away from home. We both love outdoors in our lesiure time such as hiking, camping, water skiing and sports.We both love to travel when possible and enjoy good coffee. My husband is a mad motorcyclist.

The House

The House

A queenslander in a leafy green suburb. It has three bedrooms, but can sleep up to 5 people. There is only one bathroom (renovated) and toilet, modern kitchen and a dining and living area combined. The front porch is the main entrance to the house and leads into a sunroom. The floors are polished timber.
The house has the typical high ceilings of the Queenslander with fans and is fully air conditioned.
The NBN is free with a samsung smart TV.
The yard is large and fully fenced with a large bowen mango tree and a pallet swing to relax on.

Car is optional with plenty of off street parking.

The things we love about living here

  • . It has a beautiful tropical botanical gardens only 500m walk from the house. The botanical gardens is a lovely place to wander the leafy promonade and visit the coffee shops and Tanks Art Galleries (converted oil tanks). The Tanks also provide a unique venue for shows such comedy, dance and music.
  • . The botanical gardens are also the home to the start to 4 hiking trails, varying in difficulty, in the mountains and tropical rainforest that borders the botanical gardens and the suburb we live in Cairns.
  • . The botanical gardens tanks also hosts a market on the last Sunday of each month.
  • . There are 4 fabulous coffee shops, 4 highly regarded resturants, gourmet butcher and boutique shoppping just minutes from the front door.
  • . We are a stones throw from the airport and only a 10 minutes drive from the center of Cairns and the Esplanade, (another lovely place to stroll)
  • .There are many walking paths and bike paths that connect our suburb to the centre of Cairns and Esplanade.
  • . Cairns has a wide range of activities to experience, particularly for those who love the outdoors and want to experience the reef and rainforest in one place.
  • . Friendly safe suburb.

5 stars!! Trish and Ashley have a beautiful Queenslander with character. Their house was spotless and we were encouraged to make ourselves at home after a personal tour of the neighbourhood from Trish. We had an amazing stay! The location is excellent and a 10 mins drive from the airport and 10 min walk from the botanical gardens. It was a pleasure to swap with Trish and Ashley and mind their beautiful dog Pele. My two small children loved Pele and doing tricks ! We did a mutual car swap and airport pick up / drop off. Trish and Ashley left our home very clean and tidy. We would love to do a repeat swap again! Thank you to you both, we had a beautiful family holiday in your paradise!!
