House Swap with us

We, Anne and Paul, are a couple in our 60s enjoying good health, and looking forward to a great deal more travel in Australia and overseas in the coming years. We regard ourselves as semi-retired: we keep very busy! Anne has worked in a variety of careers including teaching, adult training and economic development. Paul has worked primarily in human resource management. We have both enjoyed working in paid and volunteer assignments in developing countries in recent years. Anne works in several volunteer roles, and enjoy mentoring young people in developing countries, and family history research. Paul also does family history research, and likes running and swimming, reading history, and discovering different places and cultures. We love living in Noosa, but we also enjoy travelling. We are open to house swaps almost anywhere in Australia, but particulalry Melbourne where we have family and friends. We're usually flexible about timing.

The House

The House

Our house is a 2-bedroom home in Noosa Heads, minutes from beaches and the Hastings Street tourism and shopping precinct. The house has all the essential facilities and appliances for a comfortable stay. We've lived in this house for nearly 30 years, so it's very much our home.
The house is set in a native garden on a small (manageable!) block, with an automated sprinkler system that minimises garden maintenance. It has a lovely garden deck that gets the cooling south-east breezes, and a separate north-facing patio.
The house has a master bedroom with ensuite and walk-in wardrobe, separate dining and living room areas, and terra cotta-style tiles throughout. It would best suit a couple, but the second bedroom has a double bed and good wardrobe space.
It's only a few minutes' drive to beaches, shops and supermarkets, a cinema, restaurants, wine bars, coffee shops and restaurants, the Noosa National Park, and the Noosa River itself.

The things we love about living here

  • Noosa is just wonderful!
  • We're in a quiet cul-de-sac in a residential neighbourhood.
  • We're close to everything we need.
  • Noosa is a community that cares for the environment.

The Location

The Location

Our home is very central for access to all of Noosa's attractions:
* Noosa Main Beach, Noosa National Park, Hastings Street (with its upmarket boutiques) and Sunshine Beach are both only 5 minutes' drive
* The Noosa River, which has a lovely and very popular parkland pathway alongside it, is also only 5 minutes' drive away
* There is a multitude of fine restaurants and affordable eating places throughout Noosa including in the nearby Noosa Junction precinct (where the locals shop). And great coffee!
* Noosa National Park has numerous beautiful walking tracks, quiet beaches and access to surfing points
* Eumundi's famous markets are 20 minutes' drive away
* There are lovely hinterland drives to the townships of Cooroy, Pomona and Kin Kin, as well as the coastal road to Maroochydore and Mooloolaba
* Aussie Zoo is about 50 minutes' drive away.
Our street is very quiet and peaceful - except perhaps for the birds visiting the garden! There's a neighbourhood park nearby and children's playground a few minutes' walk from the house, andthe Sunday Farmer's Market is also within walking distance, across the wooden pedestrian bridge over Weyba Creek.

This was a non-simultaneous swap . Anne and Paul were meticulous in looking after our home and left our place very clean and tidy . They had the use of our car for their period of stay. We would highly recommend them for house swapping .
