We are a semi retired couple , keen to travel more within Australia. We've owned our house in Northcote for 20 years and having lived overseas for 12 years, always enjoy coming home.

The House

Country style weatherboard home with a light - filled sun room between the front of the house ( 3 bedrooms and lounge room ) and the open plan dining room/ kitchen , bathroom and 4th bedroom. Bedroom one contains a kingsize bed, Bedroom two has a Queen size, Bedroom 3 and 4 are both studies , each with a double bed. The lounge room is completly self contained. Our main living area is a combined kitchen / dining room. Our bathroom has a lovely long bath and separate shower and toilet. An additional toilet is located at the back of our home in the laundry. Formerly a dairy, we have a large back garden with gorgeous salmon gum Eucalypt and Chinese Elm trees. We have a fire pit in winter and outdoor dining in summer Our front garden is also pretty, we'd be keen for our house swap people to water our garden in summer months. Our house is on one level.

The things we love about living here

Northcote has a wonderful variety of cafes and restaurants, mid range to inexpensive. Close by are inner city suburbs of Fitzroy and Clifton Hill.
We have good neighbours.
Great location . 4 minutes to the train also to trams to the city.. We have street parking on Charles St ( very wide and busy, though quiet inside the house.
We are 10 minutes walk from the wonderful Westgarth- Palace Cinema- no need to travel for great movies.
We often walk the 5 minutes to join the Merri Creek trail.. great for walking and cycling, natural bush on both banks. You can walk for hours along the Merri Creek.

The Location

Great location. Close to all city attractions,excellent public transport connections. Northcote is a thriving neighbourhood for families, young and not so young. Restaurants and cool cafes, live music venues, charming residential streets, trendy retail outlets as well as op shops. There are easy walking and bike trails in three directions along the lovely Merri Creek.
