Hello! We are a family of 5: ) David is a Registered nurse and Shinko is a part-time teacher. The kids: Josh is a 18 yr old who surfs competitively, Hana is a 16 yr old who is extremely arty, and Luke is a 13 yr old who likes gaming and chess. We are interested in house swaps that will allow for us to be near a surfing beach, but open to other options too!

Our house is located in the heart of Newcastle, in a little beach town of Merewether. Although we are situated on a fairly busy road, once you enter the house, you will be pleasantly surprised to hear very little of the noise. There's a master bedroom with a queen size bed, a girl's bedroom with also a twin size bed, and a boys' room with two single beds. All bedrooms have ceiling fans. Our house opens right up towards the back with the kitchen-living-dining space, which flows out to the deck and a small yard. We also have some bikes that you can use to ride around the neighbourhood. We are more than happy to look after pets, and our house is dog friendly too- with a secure gate in the back yard (waist high gate though). We LOVE our little house and where we are, and I am sure you would love it too!

Shinko has been so easy to communicate with right from the start. We loved our time staying in Mereweather. The house has everything you need-including an outdoor shower for post beach! Location is incredible with beach, shops, great bistro and coffee on your doorstep.

Shinko and Dave's home is in the central part of Merewether walking distance to the central shopping area and beautiful beaches. We really enjoyed their cosy entertainment/media area and it was easy to locate things in the kitchen she thoughtfully left us plenty of cleared space for our belongings and also in the kitchen and fridge. We enjoyed our stay catching up with relatives and exploring Newcastle, doing day trips to Nelson Bay and the Hunter Valley which we would not have achieve if it wasn't for a house swap. My home had been well cared for and all linen and towels thoughtfully washed and folded on my return. Thank you Shinko and family it was a very pleasurable house swap.
