We are a small family. My husband works at the Australian Museum and I am a writer and copywriter with a background in the arts. We have a seven-year-old son and a well-trained Australian Shepherd, Kirby (she is only allowed on our bed when her rug is down and has a specific spot on the couch). If Kirby is unable to travel with us, we would need pet care for her. We moved to Sydney 5 years ago and absolutely love it here! Our area, Surry Hills, is full of history, parks, great restaurants and lots of public transport. We prefer school holiday swaps.

Gorgeous corner terrace in historic, vibrant Surry Hills. Overlooking a small park, our house is close to the new tram line, numerous bus lines and a short walk to Central Station, so the sights of Sydney are within easy reach. Restaurants, supermarkets and boutique shops are all close by. Our house is situated between Prince Alfred and Moore Parks and we're within walking distance to Centennial Park.

We enjoyed our stay at Eleanor’s lovely home. Spacious with high ceilings, large windows, big living spaces and an outdoor area - you forget you are right bang in the middle of the city! Very conveniently located next to cafes/restaurants and the light rail station - we managed to make the most of our stay! Eleanor offered us great tips and ensured a comfortable and enjoyable stay for our family of 4 + 2 dogs :) For the book lovers, she has a beautiful wall of books! Eleanor and her family plus dog took great care of our home and we would happily swap houses again!

Eleanor's home in Surry Hills was the perfect fit for our family, with generous living and dining spaces, we felt right at home. It is a beautiful area of Sydney, and exploring it on our morning walks was a favourite part of our stay. Eleanor's home is is only a 30 second walk to the light rail which made getting around Sydney a breeze. An added bonus is their beautiful dog Kirby, who we walked and cared for over our 8 day stay. Communicating with Eleanor was so easy, and she even gave us some great suggestions of things we might like to do while in Sydney. The information book at her house was so handy and clear, we knew exactly where everything was. Eleanor and her family were perfect guests at our house and all round it was a very successful swap. Eleanor, Russell, Arlen & Kirby's fabulous 3 Bedroom Surry Hills Terrace is a great place to just park the car & reach for your Opal Card, being only 2 minute walk to Surry Hills Light Rail Station. An amazing spot to explore the beautiful city of Sydney with the Light Rail Network being an amazing way to move people around a busy city. Fabulous foodie options everywhere with a trip to the Fish Markets & Chinatown for our Christmas Feast! We had a jam packed Itinerary with a trip to the Aquarium, Darling Harbour, Barangaroo, Circular Quay, Sydney Museum, Botanical Gardens, Australian Museum Van Gogh Live at The Entertainment Quarter & a 3D Movie at Hoyts in George Street. We loved that we could return to the more relaxed vibe of Surry Hills with it's amazing cafe's, restaurants & bars. Memorable swap Indeed!
