House Swap with us

We are an active family with three kids that love to travel and experience new people and places. Kathryn and Alistair have travelled extensively (60+ countries and counting) and love nothing more than going to new places and enjoying what they offer. We are very respectful of other people's property and have chosen to house swap rather than AirBnB to have a more authentic and less commercial experience (more about meeting and connecting with other likeminded people). We really enjoy sharing our home and what we have and we believe home swaps allows for a more generous and rich experience. We are happy to look after animals where we can and maintenance where needed.

The House

Modern, open plan home in Pottsville, a low-key gem on the Tweed coast in the in the northern rivers region of NSW.

We have an open plan, modern coastal 4 bdrm family home that's close to everything you need.

It's a comfortable, low maintenance, single level house with 4 good size bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There is a good size backyard with chooks and fruit trees along with breakfast bar, outdoor undercover deck and fire pit area.

We're very happy to share what we have (canoes, paddle boards, bikes, surfboards, etc...), so you get the best out of your stay.

The things we love about living here

  • Pottsville feels like your on holidays permanently without the crowds.
  • The creek is great for paddling, kids swimming and fishing (crystal clear at high tide). There is excellent, uncrowded surfing just 2 mins away that is consistent year round or a quick 10 min trip to Cabarita Beach is a great option (voted #1 beach in Oz a few years back).
  • We're a short bike ride to Pottsville village which great cafes (Black Drop, Cornerstop) and a good selection of restaurants (check out Pipit for high end or Izakawa for legendary Japanese).
  • There are breweries, distilleries, art galleries, live music venues and excellent food and markets, all within 30 mins drive.
  • It's also very central, only 20 minutes to Brunswick Heads (how good is Brunswick Pub!), 20 mins to Coolangatta and only 35mins to Byron Bay so you can enjoy the bay without dealing with the crowds.
  • We're a little biased but Pottsville is a great place to visit, both for couples and families and we hope you come to stay!

We had a fabulous stay at Alistair’s home. The property is well equipped for a family, with plenty of kids toys, games and activities. My daughters had a lovely time taking care of the chickens at the property which was a real treat. The home has a relaxed feel with lovely furnishing and only a one minute stroll to the river where you can swim, kayak and paddle board. So many great towns to explore only a short drive from Potsville!

Alistair was great to deal with and the spacious and comfortable house is in a super location for all the great beach locations there. Salty the dog was great and our grandkids loved the chickens.Would highly recommend a swap.
