Home exchange and house swap holiday accommodation in New Norfolk, Hobart, TAS
This is my parents and brothers homes and we are all looking to go for a holiday during the Christmas holidays. My parents are semi retired and my brothers family consists of a 14 year old daughter and 6 year old son. We have a shack at White Beach and that's where we usually go for holidays, but this year we want to venture a little further. I work for the Department for Education Children and Young People and am due for a holiday.

New Norfolk is a central location for tourism in the upper Derwent Valley and near the tourist attractions of Mount Field, Lake Pedder, Strathgordon, Gordon Dam hydroelectric site, and the South West Wilderness. Est 1807 New Norfolk is Tasmania's third-oldest settlement, founded by evacuees relocated from Norfolk Island.
The town's storied past is evident in its historic buildings, including one of Australia's oldest pubs, the Bush Inn, and Australia's oldest Anglican church, St Matthews. It also has one of the country's few traditional village squares.
In the spirit of its past, New Norfolk has grown into a centre for quality antiques. And one of the town's darkest corners - the Willow Court Asylum, which was Australia's longest-operating mental-health facility - has been transformed to house the highly regarded The Agrarian Kitchen Eatery and its newly relocated cooking school, as well as Tasmania's first rum distillery and an antique shop.
