Home exchange and house swap holiday accommodation in Urangan, Hervey Bay, Fraser Coast, QLD
We are a mature couple of recent 'empty nesters'. Janet is a casual teacher and Simon has a couple of casual jobs. We love our laidback lifestyle near the beach, but enjoy the countryside and the culture and activities found in big cities. Simon is originally from the UK and we have lived in the UK and travelled around Europe and other areas of the world. We are looking forward to spending more time in areas of Australia we have not yet explored.

Our home is a 3 level, 3 bed, 2 bath unit in The Grange Resort complex in Urangan, a beachside suburb of Hervey Bay. We are walking distance from the beach, pier and various cafes and shops. There is a small parade of shops (including corner shop/takeaway) situated directly across the road from the Resort. The marina, aquarium and boat club are approx 2km from the property. Hervey Bay has a large shopping complex (Stocklands), and various other shopping precincts. A 15km paved esplanade and a rail trail through town and into the country offers opportunities for walking, running, biking and scooting. Many water sports are on offer including boats, sailing, jetskiing, paddle boarding, kayaks, scuba diving, wind surfing etc. with water sport rental equipment shops available. Hervey Bay is reknowned for its fishing and we are a short walk from local fishing spots and fishing charters are available. During the winter whale watching season, Hervey Bay is famous for its whalewatching where humpback whales can be seen in the waters off our coast. The world largest sand island, and World Heritage listed K'Gari (Fraser Island) is a short boat or ferry ride away off the coast. K'Gari is an area of outstanding natural beauty and interest. The historic town of Maryborough with original Queenslander houses and museums is a 30min drive. We are also only a 2/2.5 hour drive to the sunshine coast and 3 hours from north Brisbane. The city of Bundaberg is 1.5 hours north.

There is 1 endorsement for this house swap member:
Janet and Simon were a wonderful couple to swap with. Their house was very clean and tidy and in a lovely resort. Their gorgeous cat Tricie was a very easy cat to look after. We thoroughly enjoyed our daily swims along the Esplanade and our many bike rides. The house is walking g distance to great eateries and the weekly market near the Pier. Coming from Tassie and being beach lovers it was an ideal swap for us. We had done most of the touristy things on previous trips to the Sunshine Coast.
