Our house is a lovely, easy-care, modern, and airy cottage set on just over 1 acre among the green, rolling hills of the Atherton Tablelands. The kitchen, study nook, dining area and lounge are open plan. It has great light and is a comfortable and welcoming space, suitable for singles, a couple, or 2 couples. The 2 bedrooms each have a Queen size bed.
The house has everything you need for a relaxing stay. In the winter months the reverse cycle aircon and/or fireplace provides plenty of warmth. And on the few days in summer when it is a little warm, the aircon and fans do the trick. We have great views: from our deck you can see the peaks of QLD's two highest mountains, Bellenden Ker and Bartle Frere. We have planted over 100 trees in the last 2 years, to attract even more birds and other wildlife to our garden.
We are just 5 mins drive from the township of Malanda, 10 minutes to Yungaburra village, and 25 minutes to the regional hub of Atherton. We are well situated for trips further afield like Cooktown or the Gulf and savannah country.

There are numerous attractions which we enjoy including walks, bird watching, spotting Tree Kangaroos, swimming or kayaking in the clear waters of Lake Eacham. There are waterfalls galore, and it is close enough to Cairns to enjoy all the attractions that city has to offer. The Malanda Information Centre and Malanda Historical Society provide excellent introductions to the rich Indigenous and settler history in this area.
