I'm Elsa and my wife Leah and I live in beautiful Beechworth with our beloved cat Simon. I'm a part time GP and Leah is in management. Elsa loves gardening, renovating, and cycling, and Leah is a keen cook, and loves swimming and reading. We are quiet, respectful, and like to keep our home (and yours!) clean and tidy. We are looking for 1-2 week holiday options in May and August 2024, and January/February 2025. If you are local (within 2 hours of Beechworth) we are also open to long weekends, as we both have every second Monday and public holidays off.

The House

Single storey, open plan, large and spacious house with Beechworth gorge views on 1 acre of land. Located centrally, the main street is a 15 minute walk away, and we are on the edge of the local State Forest, a beautiful location for walking, swimming, and nature watching.

The things we love about living here

Excellent food and wine in town and surrounding towns, including locally made and grown produce
Plenty of wineries and distilleries to explore
Nature walks and swims (Beechworth gorge, Lake Sambell, many others)
Bike riding of all types popular here (mountain biking, gravel, rail trail, road riding)
A vibrant local music scene and boutique shops
It's a short trip to the mountains for skiing, and to other beautiful cottage towns including Bright, Yackandandah and Rutherglen
Only 40 minutes drive from Albury with access to cinemas, theatre and department stores.
North East Victoria comes alive in Autumn, with beautiful trees and landscapes making it one of Victoria (and Australia's) most popular Easter destinations.
Beechworth is also known for it's rich history as a Gold Mining town, and as the home of the infamous bushranger Ned Kelly.

The Location

Albury-Wodonga is a large regional city on the border of NSW (Albury) and Victoria (Wodonga) of >100,000 people. Beechworth is 30 minutes by car away. Beechworth is also close to other NE Victoria tourist towns such as Bright, Rutherglen and Yackandandah. From Beechworth, there is easy access to various mountain ranges - Mt. Buffalo, Falls Creek and Hotham (each 1-2 hours away by car).
