Home exchange and house swap holiday accommodation in West Launceston, Launceston, TAS
Maree & Alan are active seniors who love to travel. We have been involved in house exchanging for many years and exchanged successfully 65 times, both within Australia and overseas. We usually have a motorhome for extended local travel. We are both retired - Alan had his own Public Accounting Business for many years and Maree worked with him. Our two children left home years ago. Julian and family live in Maroochydore, Queensland and Janice and family are nearby in Launceston. We enjoy the company of Janice and her husband's two children as well as spoiling Julian's twins and their 5 year old when we are 'up north'. We enjoy our comfortable home of the 40's Maree prides herself in her neat and always clean home and also spends many hours working in the garden and her large sewing/hobby room. Alan helps out in the garden and has a hobby of converting vans into motorhomes. Our exchanges can be anywhere, so long as we can get plenty of exercise, and also maybe to places a little different. Longer exchanges would be considered to anywhere in Australia, except to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

We are situated in Launceston at the head of the wide estuary of the Tamar River. The river meanders 50 kms to the sea.
All about us are boutique wineries and a few apple orchards.
The scenery is great.
We are within the provincial city of Launceston, which is now regarded as a 'foodie' venue. Great restaurants, cafes and bars.
There are all the usual conveniences of a modern city.
Launceston has its 'must see' Cataract gorge and river basin with gardens and eateries. See the preserved old commercial buildings and homes of days gone by.
Sample the delights of numerous small wineries, and great places to eat.
Historic villages like Evandale, Ross, Oatlands, George Town and Westbury.
Travel further to Cradle Mountain, Dove Lake, Mole Creek caves, Wine Glass Bay in the Freychinet National Park, Strachan and Macquarie Harbour.
Play golf at world famous Barnbougle, Lost Farm, Quambie or one of many local courses.
Fish in one of the highland lakes or rushing streams.
Many just come for walking and climbing amidst 'nature'.
Our daughter spends her time caving at places like Mole Creek.
Launceston is a hilly place and so has plenty of views.

We had a wonderful week in Alan and Maree's beautiful home in Lauceston. We had extra family with us on our visit and Alan and Maree were more than generous allowing all of us to stay. The house was very comfortable even for 6 of us with very large bedrooms and living areas. Alan and Maree are very experienced home exchangers and made the whole experience a delight. Thank you so much Alan and Maree and we are looking forward to seeing you in Strangford in April. Take care Paul & Claire

Thank you Alan & Maree for swapping with us. Your house was perfect: central Launceston and very comfortable. You were easy to communicate with. The people who came to our house after you, told us that you left it in perfect condition, even doing all the washing. Thank you for that. I highly recommend Alan and Maree for your next house-swap

we stayed in Alan and Maree's house for a few days and it was a warm and welcoming house; close to the Gorge and the city. It was a wonderful few days in Launceston.

We stayed with Alan & Maree in Launceston Tasmania in 2014 for about a week as a hospitality swap. They are a very friendly couple. The house was kept beautifully tidy and we were well looked after throughout our stay. When they came back to stay with us in Oxford UK, they were great company and very considerate of our property. We would highly recommend swapping with Alan & Maree.
