We are healthy retired married (50+ years) couple in our early 80s with 2 adult children and grandchildren in Melbourne, Victoria and 2 other adult children and grandchildren in Perth, W.A. We lived for many years in Perth's northern suburbs and moved to Melbourne about 20 years ago. We have stayed for a couple of weeks with our Perth-based family many times but prefer to spend longer periods independently in Perth.

Our 2-storey, 2-bedroom townhouse is in a building containing 3 other units in the inner suburb of Hawthorn East close to the railway station and it takes less than 15 minutes by train to the centre of Melbourne.
The ground floor has reverse-cycle air-conditioning, combined diner and lounge, kitchen with TV, laundry and separate WC.
A spiral stair leads to the first floor landing (contains desk), a large air conditioned main bedroom with double bed, TV and spacious wardrobe; 2nd air conditioned bedroom with double bed; bathroom (shower only, no bath) serving both bedrooms.
Our unit has a secure courtyard that is suitable for our Kelpie-cross dog which is outside most of the time, sleeps in kennel in yard and may accompany us during a house-swap.
We have a car parking space but we usually park in the street (end of cul de sac).
