We've been retired for eight years and are looking for swaps with like-minded couples. Johan had his own Computer Consulting business and Lucie was a Business Analyst. We have three adult children who live in Melbourne and Castlemaine - so we spread our time between Byron, Victoria and overseas. We've enjoyed house swapping since 2001 and love the adventure of staying in new places and exploring the surrounds. Johan has family in South Africa and Lucie has family in England and Wales, so these locations are always desirable. We've had fantastic swaps over the years, many of these in Europe. France and Italy are favourites. We're very considerate swappers and will take especially good care of your home. We love the arts, fine dining, walks and a healthy lifestyle

Our house is located in a quiet cul-de-sac on a high ridge with a fantastic ocean outlook. The views are magnificent with a 180 degree sweep of the ocean from Honeysuckle Hill to Broken Head - perfect for whale watching from June to October. The house backs onto a lush National Park bush strip with direct access to a track leading to the beach, just a short stroll away. The town is within easy reach by car, bike or on foot.
The deck looking out to the ocean is alluring and we find ourselves gravitating there throughout the day. There's also a verandah off the bedrooms that has mountain views and is a perfect spot to soak up the last rays of the sun.
The lounge/dining/kitchen is open plan with sweeping views over the treetops to the ocean. It is surrounded by decks.

Byron bay is one of Australia's premier holiday destinations. The lighthouse (most easterly point of mainland Australia) stands guard over a beautiful north facing bay with a white, sandy beach and lovely rolling waves. South from the lighthouse there is a long east facing beach that has it's own allure (this is our closest beach).
There are many cafes, restaurants and hotels in Byron Bay. Byron is an arty town and holds lots of festivals and arts related events as well as a wonderful Farmer's market every Thursday, and monthly artisan markets.

Johan and Lucie's welcoming home is nestled high in the secluded streets of Tallows Beach just a few kilometres from the heart of Byron Bay. It is delightful in design and ambience, which for the lucky house-swapper means hitting the jackpot. There is an abundance of welcome touches dotted throughout their modern home and every amenity has been provided to ensure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. The house is designed for relaxation. It's all on one level and is surrounded by a stunning deck. Sitting on the deck, glass of wine in hand, with a full panoramic view of the water is what holidays are made for. Be it sunrises, sunsets, storms or glorious sunshine you get to experience all of it. It's an easy stroll to the nearby General Store Cafe for brunch, and a comfortable bike-ride into town. But the best part is that it's a five minute walk to the beach, you do literally have the beach on your doorstop. We loved waking up and heading to the beach for an early morning swim, then going back in the afternoon for some sun time, and then headed to the beach again for sunset strolls. Being so close to the beach was wonderful Johan and Lucie were a pleasure to liaise with, nothing was too much trouble and we were delighted to have such a seamless exchange. We specially appreciated the thoughtful touches of wines, cheeses and chocolates on arrival to get us in the holiday spirit. Thank you Johan and Lucie we had a wonderful experience.

Johan and Lucie are very easy to arrange swaps with - although our swap was non simultaneous and involved multiple periods it has been arranged with a minimum of fuss. Just finished two weeks in their quiet, peaceful and comfortable home in gorgeous Byron Bay, complete with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing home away from home. The welcome pack was thoughtful and the instruction booklet for the house and surrounds is comprehensive putting us at ease for any query we may have had. Breakfast in their sunny Spanish styled courtyard with birdsong in the background was a great way to start each day. The walks along Tallows beach, to the lighthouse, and to local Cafes were all delightful. Lunch at nearby Roadhouse was a culinary delight - fantastic fresh and healthy produce, I thoroughly recommend a swap to Byron, and in particular with Johan and Lucie.
