A semi retired man ( ex university lecturer) in early 70's and looking forward to travelling in Australia. I have traveled extensively in Europe and also in Canada and the USA. We are most interested is swapping houses in Melbourne, Brisbane Tasmania or other WA destinations.

We live in a three bedroom, two bathroom, one storey townhouse (with stairs) in a quiet street close to the centre of Fremantle. The townhouse is one of only three situated at the rear of two traditional cottages. The master bedroom situated on the upper level has a queen size bed and tempur mattress, It has its own modern en-suite bathroom with a walk in shower. . There are two other bedrooms upstairs. One is currently set up as a study , with desk and computer. The other has a queen size bed. Downstairs is a living/dining room, modern, new kitchen and an outside courtyard. A living room downstairs contains a queen size sofa bed next to a separate toilet and second bathroom/laundry ( with a shower) . The townhouse is close to transport, 10 minutes walk from Fremantle railway station, the city centre, cappuccino strip and has beaches. nearby. Heating and cooling is with a reverse cycle air conditioner located in the rear living area.

Fremantle is a working port city located approximately 20 kms south of Perth. The west end of Fremantle houses the campus of Notre Dame University and is well know for its excellent Victorian architecture. Fremantle has a lively Arts and music scene, centred at the Fremantle Arts Centre and other central locations, an historic jail, convict roundhouse, maritime museums and many excellent cafes and restaurants. It is close to many fine beaches that allow a variety of water sports and activities

We had a fantastic time staying in this modern townhouse. The location and the house were both great. It was an easy walk to transport throughout Perth, including the free bus. We found the hosts friendly, helpful and very easy to communicate with. We had a car swap, which was useful to explore areas south of Perth. I can highly recommend both the hosts and the property for a really lovely holiday.
