Carl is a retired designer, amongst many other creative gifts and I am an event co-ordinator and use design especially interior design in my role as a Visual Storyteller. Family are very precious to us and moments spent with them are priceless investments. 'Fiddle Leaf Cottage' will steal your heart and you will be charmed by her in every way.
'Fiddle Leaf Cottage' is a Heritage listed miners cottage, now 168 years old. Nestled in the lovely little village of Gladstone which sits on the banks of the Macleay river.
We fell in love with this old dilapidated piece of history and have spent the last three years in an extensive restoration journey, which has been relentless and rewarding.
Fiddle Leaf is now a one bedroom cottage with a beautiful new queen sized bed complete with hotel quality linen.

Nestled on the banks of the Macleay River, Gladstone is a charming little village brimming with creativity, history and culture. Listed as a ‘Creative Community’ on the Mid North Coast Arts Trail, the village is home to 19 preserved historical buildings (Fiddle Leaf Cottage being one of them), art galleries, boutiques and cafes. Gladstone is known as the cultural heart of the Macleay Valley Coast.
Fiddle Leaf Cottage is the ideal launching pad for easy drives to fabled surfing Mecca, Crescent Head, stunning coastal vistas of Hat Head and bucolic splendour of artisan Bellingen and Waterfall Way to Dorrigo’s rainforest Skywalk. The breathtaking Smoky Cape lighthouse is fascinating, as is the historic Trial Bay gaol ruins with awesome whales so close!
Day trips to foodie Sawtell. And of course just a skip to South West Rocks with its famous sandy tranquility and languid crystal turquoise water. And much, much more!

We truly enjoyed our wonderful stay in Rosalie and Carl's beautiful Fiddle Leaf Cottage in the picturesque riverside village of Gladstone. It was lovely to share lunch with this friendly couple before we departed, providing us with confidence that we were leaving our home in safe hands. Rosalie and Carl have poured all their passion and creativity into making Fiddle Leaf Cottage an amazing home. We truly got the high end Airbnb experience without the cost! Gladstone is a great base from which to explore the region's many beautiful coastal and hinterland secrets. We would highly recommend a swap with Rosalie and Carl's slice of magic!
