We are a family of 4, with a 4 year old boy and a little girl who is 3. We also have a well trained and quiet 7 year old dog, who we adopted from a rescue shelter. Originally from South Africa, we moved to Australia in 2016, lived in Sydney, on the Northern beaches, for 3 years, before settling on the Gold Coast. We chose to live here because of the beautiful beaches & the friendly people. A good balance all around really! As a family we enjoy being outdoors. We love adventures, culture, seeing new places and living life to the full, and are excited to keep exploring this beautiful country!

We live in a spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home which is ideal for children with plenty fenced in garden space to run around and a big pool to swim in! We also have a chicken coop which is great fun and entertainment for kids.
Open plan kitchen and dining overlooking and flowing out to the pool and garden - perfect for keeping an eye on the little ones. A formal lounge area with big TV for the movie nights. There is space for everyone.
Very child friendly with lots of toys, a tree swing, trampoline and a kids cubby. All areas of the house flow out to the covered entertainment which overlooks the sparkling pool. Ducted aircon keeps the house cool in summer or warm in winter.

One child loving, low energy female medium size dog who is extrememly obedient, quiet and well behaved. We have 8 chickens. They are in a chicken run and need minimal attention as they have a food and water feeder. They lay tasty eggs!

We recently returned from a fantastic week away staying at Carla's wonderfully appointed home. The spacious house was perfect for our family of 5 and is nice and modern with a great sized pool the kids loved. The location is perfect for anybody looking to tick off the theme parks or those wanting to get away and explore Tamborine Mountain. Carla even left us a list of day trip and outing suggestions which we really enjoyed. The only sad part was having to say goodbye to their good natured dog Asti, whom our daughter formed quite the bond with. From the first message, nothing was a problem for Carla and it was clear this was going to be an enjoyable houseswap. The car swap made it even easier as getting in and out of the airport was so convenient. Upon returning home, our house was in sparkling condition and certainly well looked after whilst we were away. Our family had a fantastic stay at Carla and Michael's beautiful home. The heated pool and outside entertainment area, was a great place for us to all hang out and be together as a family. Our girls (2 and 4) were very impressed with all the toys, the outside trampoline and loved playing with their well behaved dog, Asti. She was no trouble at all, in fact we all got very attached to her. Being so close to the theme parks and only a short drive to the Gold Coast (25 mins) and Mt Tamborine (15 mins), was great! Their home had everything we needed and we couldn't have asked for a better swap. Carla and Michael are lovely people and very easy to co-ordinate with. We definitely recommend house swapping with them. We were very grateful to come home to our house exactly how we left it too, thanks guys:)
