Home exchange and house swap holiday accommodation in Bronte, Sydney, Bronte Beach next to Bondi Beach, NSW
I am nearly 80 but you’d never think so and my wife, Delia, is much younger! Delia is retired but I am keeping on working - own a pub in Newtown Sydney but you won’t find me there much of the times as I am writing a book about the Sydney hospitality scene in the 80s and 90s. We have been married 50 years with only one argument which Delia won and I learnt those words ‘Yes dear’. We love going to art galleries, bars and restaurants (of which there are so many great ones in Sydney) as well as walks and trips round Australia in the Tesla (sorry!). We are originally from Nottingham and Derby area but try not to hold it against us - we moved to Sydney in 1982. Delia loves gardening and you will be able to see from pics of the almost rainforest garden. We love where we live and think you will too. We really want to visit Uk a few times in next few years and happy to go anywhere in UK but South and Midlands preferred.

Our house is actually 2 apartments and we own both - Delia and I live in one and our daughter and grandchildren live in the other.
The building is mid century but we modernized both units significantly in 2010 - could be called ‘mid century modern’. The design is certainly arty and modern and we have filled the unit with art and mid century furniture as well as books and hifi. There are 3 bedrooms each with a queen bed and the master has its own en-suite. There is a Samsung Serif smart tv in the lounge and another in a bedroom. The modern kitchen opens onto a large 30m2 dining lounge which in turn opens onto a large outdoor deck which then looks over a very green, almost rainforest garden. The house is adjacent to a small park and it is very quiet and sometimes called ‘the golden triangle’. We are 5 minutes from Bronte Beach by car and 15 minute walk through the bronte Gully. Bondi Beach is 10 mins away by car or 40 minute walk along the shore line ( the Bronte to Bondi walk is considered one of the most impressive in the country).

Bronte is a laid back yet sophisticated suburb with a large catchment of young families and many facilities including top schools. Charing Cross is the local centre with everything you need but you are only 5 minuses from Bondi Junction which has the world class Westfield with every shop you could ever want ( except Muji !). From Bondi Junction you can get the train to the CBD (15 mins) or virtually anywhere in the Sydney basin. Take the Ferry to Manly or the train to the Blue Mountains.
