Home exchange and house swap holiday accommodation in Brooklyn, Greater Sydney / Hawkesbury River , NSW
Hi! We’re Luke (52) and Pavla (46) — a friendly couple from Brooklyn, NSW, who love travelling, hiking, and spending time in nature. We’re happiest exploring new places, walking through national parks, or relaxing by the water, but we also enjoy a good pub meal or some live music now and then. We share our home with our gentle greyhound, who’s an easygoing, placid soul. He sometimes comes along on our adventures, but we’re just as happy to arrange boarding if a swap isn’t suitable for pets. We take pride in keeping our home tidy, comfortable, and welcoming, and we’d care for your place as if it were our own. We love discovering new regions, meeting locals, and enjoying the simple things — good walks, good food, and a relaxed pace of life. We each have a few children from previous relationships who might occasionally join us on our travels, though that’s unlikely. Of course, we’d always check with you before making any booking.

Our beautifully renovated 1951 cottage blends classic character with high-end antique finishes. We recently restored it to a very high standard, carefully sourcing timber windows and doors from other antique homes while preserving the original timber floors, giving the house a warm, timeless feel.
The cottage is compact and cozy—ideal for a couple or small family. The main bedroom features a comfortable king-sized bed. There’s a small office with a single pull-out bed, plus a back room that doubles as a winter dining area and includes a hidden queen-sized Murphy bed for extra guests.
The front garden is beautifully cared for, offering a charming space to relax, while the back garden is a work in progress but safe and fully fenced for peace of mind. The property also features an automated gate with secure parking.
Located adjacent to Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, it’s a nature lover’s dream. For boating enthusiasts, the Brooklyn NSW boat ramp is just a few hundred meters away, making it easy to bring your boat along.
It’s a short stroll to the train station and Hawkesbury River, perfect for a day trip to Sydney. You can also take a ferry to Dangar Island for breakfast at a beautiful café on the water or lunch at the local bowling club.
For local recreation, the river swimming baths are just five minutes’ walk from the house, and nearby Dead Horse Bay offers a hidden, peaceful beach perfect for swimming or a relaxing bushwalk.
The house is full of character, with a fantastic front deck ideal for morning coffees or evening wine while watching locals stroll by on their way to the nearby pub or exploring the area.
If you’re after a home with warmth, charm, and a touch of history in a friendly, vibrant neighbourhood surrounded by nature and water, this is the perfect spot.
