The area is suburban with mostly families and a school at the end of the quiet street. The river is usually quiet but will have some activity on weekends, but is not noisy. Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is 4 kms away, as is Mt Cootha where mountain biking and hiking trails are located.There is a gymnasium 500m away.
