I live on the harbour in Auckland city and have a small 100 year old cottage which I have as an air bnb- it is completely separate from my house and is very private. It’s is surrounded by 100!year old native trees and looks into the water- you sometimes see orca swimming by in the distance. It is safe for swimming. I have have a large pool as well. The suburb of Point Chevalier is safe and has lots of great cafes and two supermarkets nearby. The fabulous Auckland Zoo is walking distance away and you could even walk into downtown though the bus route is a few meters away.

All are welcome. Surrounded by ancient trees, bird life and sparkling water, this 100 yr old cottage is an eclectic mix of vintage and modern finds. Enjoy evening sunsets on the deck and bird life by day. Not the hotel experience, but perhaps better?

Not far from the Ferry building and marina where you can catch ferries to Devonport, Waiheke Isalnd ( vineyards and beaches) and other destinations. Inner city beach suburbs like Mission Bay and St Heliers are 25 mins away.
There is a paddle boarding shop a few meters away who rent boards. I have a kayak.
