Home exchange and house swap holiday accommodation in Terragon, Uki, Northern Rivers, NSW
We are a family of four - a couple in our late 40s and two kids (a 10 year old son and 7 year old daughter). We made the move from Brisbane to the Northern Rivers over 5 years ago now, and love our new home in the country. Our Queenslander was relocated on a few trucks, then we started on the renovations (nearly done now!). We've done a lot of revegetation work along the river too. We enjoy trips to Murwillumbah, the beach (Cabarita, Pottsville, Hastings Point and Byron), playing music, getting to live gigs when we can (less so these days!), and spending time with friends and family. We count ourselves lucky to be able to work part-time, and mostly remotely, which allows us to live where we do. We've done a handful of swaps now and have loved the experience. A relocated and renovated Queenslander on 20 acres of green surroundings on the Tweed river.
We have a separate shed that is fully-self contained as an alternative and smaller and simpler swap option for couples if they prefer.

We are 5klms from Uki Village on a mostly cleared acreage with tree-lined river frontage. Uki has a small supermarket, great coffee in the local post office, and Saturday morning farmer's market. The Uki Mountain bike park is a popular tourist destination.
Murwillumbah is a further 15 minute drive with lots more, including the Tweed regional art gallery and some great restaurants (we recommend Livi if you're looking for something fancy!). The Northern Rivers rail trail is also highly recommended, and the closest station is at Stokers Siding, a 15 min drive from our home. Hosanna Farm Stay is a good spot to go for families on a Saturday evening with pizzas and tunes.
Although you can no longer hike up Wollumbin (Mt Warning) there are other national parks around, including Mt Jerusalem National Park. We tend to walk on the fire trail at Clarrie Hall Dam which is close by and otherwise stay and walk and swim on our property, which has about 1klm of river frontage.
