Mum and 10yo son ready for new adventures! I'm a freelance writer/journalist and former travel writer ready for some new adventures with my son. We joined this site when he was a baby and did successful swaps from Noosa to New Zealand! Since then we've done plenty of travel and now ready for another houseswapping stage. We've been houseswapping, dog sitting, and airbnb'ing together since he was born. I work remotely and my son attends an online school which has a 9 week break in July/August - so we'll be looking for Australian swaps (north!) for July/August 2025, as well as the following specifics: SWAPS WE ARE LOOKING FOR: 1. Non simultaneous swaps for our serene, 3br family home (complete with swim spa, hot tub and fabulous garden) in Canberra. You: Will enjoy our Canberra home in February or March 2024. Us: We will use our half of the non simultaneous swap in one of the following ways: *A July/Aug 2025 stay in your Queensland home (open to offers from 2-6 weeks!) *A short stay (3-7 days) in your place within 3 hours of Sydney - any direction but particularly north coast or Blue Mountains. After April 2025 we may be based in Sydney - so I'll post then about our Sydney home as we will be definitely looking for more winter swaps. We may also be looking for 4 weeks in Europe (particularly Sweden/Stockhome/Lapland) in December 2025/Jan 2026 - If you are a European couple or small family keen for a month near the beach in Sydney Christmas 2025, let's talk! WHO WE TRAVEL WITH: For years we have travelled with other families. My best friend and her now 12yo son came to NZ with us on Aussie House Swap, and another family came with us to Noosa. We would love 2025 swaps where other families can come to join us for part or all of the time. At all times I'd tell you who we hope to travel with and confirm that's ok with you - it's your home after all! For our winter 2025 swaps in particular we are looking for a pet-friendly home. We have a very well behaved 4yo cavoodle, Rosie, who is an informal support dog for my son who has anxiety. We are deliberately staying in Australia winter 2025 to find swaps where we can take Rosie. (Rosie has been dog sat by many members of our Canberra community over the last 4 years and comes with plenty of references!) I look forward to seeing what options pop up for 2025!

Art Deco apartment in a small block of four in fantastic Sydney suburb of Randwick. 15 min walk to famous Coogee Beach, and 300m to transport, cafes, cinema and more.
The apartment is located in an area of Randwick called "The Spot" - well known for dozens of restaurants and bars, an excellent Art Deco Cinema (The Randwick Ritz), and proximity to UNSW. Even though my apartment is very quiet, all of that is just 300m away - I'll let you know the best place to grab your morning coffee.
Approximate timings by bus or light rail.
*Opera house - under 30mins.
*City centre - 25 mins? Fast. Easy. Lots of options.
*Vibey restaurant/nightlife areas like Surry Hills or Darlinghurst - 20 mins. Even quicker by Uber.
*Bondi Junction (jumping off point for more beaches) - 10mins.
Or...walk!...It's an easy walk to Coogee beach, then take the famous coastal walk all the way to Bondi beach, stopping at 5 beaches enroute. I'll let you know all the best swimming, snorkelling or coffee spots on the way. There are lots!
