Greetings from Eagle Point, a small popular tourist destination on the Gippsland Lakes (400 sq km lake system), great for water and land based activities. Only 6 km from Paynesville, Victoria's boating capital, where you will find a variety of eateries and shops dotted along the shores of Lake Victoria and McMillan Straits. A ferry trip to Raymond Island to see the large koala population and explore the island is a "must do"
* Day trip to Lakes Entrance and take the boardwalk to the 90 mile beach. Buy seafood from the trawlers. or
* Metung (check out Bancroft Bay & visit Metung Hot Springs)
* Buchan (Buchan Caves & Reserve)
* Marlo (where the Snowy River meets the sea) Cape Conran Coastal Park is pristine.
Eagle Point is 3.5 hours from Melbourne, 5 hours from Canberra, 8 hours from Sydney. In winter a two hour drive will find you in the alpine region of Dinner Plain and Mount Hotham Victoria's premium ski fields.

We had the most wonderful experience swapping with Jan through Aussie House Swap. Her home at Eagle Point was absolutely perfect for myself, my disabled husband, and my elderly aunt. The layout was comfortable and easy to manage, which made our stay completely stress-free. The location couldn’t have been better. Eagle Point is simply beautiful, with lovely walks and the water just a short stroll away. It was only a 10-minute drive to Bairnsdale and 5 minutes to Paynesville, so everything we needed was close by while still enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Jan’s home was beautifully decorated, warm and welcoming, and thoughtfully equipped with everything you could possibly need. It truly felt like a home away from home. Jan and the two girls who stayed at our home were the perfect swap guests. They left our home in absolutely perfect condition, which we greatly appreciated. Jan was so helpful throughout the entire process and is such a genuinely lovely person. We would not hesitate to swap with Jan again and highly recommend her to anyone considering a house swap.
